Client:
A US-based Life Sciences company, working in the areas of Oncology and Neuroscience.
Challenge:
Identify pathway interactions between differentially expressed genes in a particular species. The availability of pathway data in that species is limited and this added to the complexity of the project.
Strand’s Solution:
Strand applied past experience and knowledge combined with innovative informatics experiments to develop new hypotheses for the customer. We found that the drug at concentration “x” has a significant effect on signaling pathway (eg. Hedgehog signaling, Notch signaling, etc) and certain metabolic pathways (eg. TCA, Glutatione metabolism). The expression profile of HDAC protein, Polycomb group of proteins, and Trithorax group of proteins, suggest that the drug at concentration “x” also plays an important role in chromatin remodeling.
